NUAGES
EN PANTALON
COMPAGNIE DE CRÉATION
« Collective work is at the core of the company’s process. Under the artistic direction of Jean-Philippe Joubert, each creator, while preserving their specialization, participates in the writing and creation of the show. The artistic disciplines influence one another and all aspects of the performance are developed simultaneously. »
Jean-Philippe Joubert, Artistic and Stage Director © Hélène Bouffard
« If you like - I'll be furiously flesh elemental, or - changing to tones that the sunset arouses - if you like - I'll be extraordinary gentle,
not a man,
but - a cloud in trousers ! »
- Vladimir Mayakovsky, A Cloud in Trousers (which translates into French as Le nuage en pantalon)
NUAGES EN PANTALON
Compagnie de création
Nuages en pantalon - compagnie de création was founded in Quebec City in 2001 by four graduating artists from the Conservatoire d’art dramatique de Québec.
The company brings together artists from different backgrounds, exploring a subject, in order to create an original theatre for audiences of all ages. Under the artistic direction of Jean-Philippe Joubert, who favours a group research approach for productions, each artist takes part in the writing, staging, set design and performance. The artistic medium influences each other and all aspects of the production develop simultaneously.
To this day, the company has created twenty shows in Quebec City. It has visited many cities in the province of Quebec, in Canada and in France.
Over 800 performances have been played to nearly 130,000 audience members, and the journey continues.

Two curious and spirited friends with dazzling imaginations welcome your 8 to 12 year old audience to a great celebration of science. They are using this vessel as a creative engine to initiate stories and understand the world in which we live in a different way.
‘’Les idées lumière’’ takes up the challenge of making science a theatrical, imaginative and playful artwork. From physical and chemical experiments with spectacular visual outcomes, short stories are created and brought together in a cabaret with eclectic ambiances.
« We quickly get caught into the seductive scientific and linguistic manipulations of the show, into all the magic that comes out of test tubes equally as from the story, dealing with all sorts of subjects without ever being explanatory, but on the contrary, by inducing enchantment and curiosity. »
- Ludovic Fouquet, REVUE JEU

Dominique is inseparable from Rose, her favorite doll. They do everything together. One day, Dominique's brother tells her that Rose is not alive, therefore not "real"! How could she be hurt and even go to the hospital if she's not real?
''L’hôpital des poupées'' is an adaptation of Ann Margaret Sharp's philosophical children's novel The Doll Hospital. Based on a seemingly banal story, this play deals with profound questions and invites viewers to reflect on the origin of their thoughts.
